Hey , short film fans in Manitoba! Any plans this Saturday evening (July 19th at 7 pm, to be exact)? Before you head out to a cafe patio, a lounge, or a pool party, tune in to CBC-TV for a one-hour short film program called, Short Shots.
The show will be hosted by Mike Bell and will feature a variety of new Manitoba short films from the Winnipeg Film Group!
It’s nice to see television programs such as Short Shots out there, dedicated to bring short films to a viewing audience that might not otherwise get a chance to see these films. TV viewers are always on the hunt for something new and different to watch. Short film programs on prime time could be one way to satisfy this entertainment desire. They certainly are of a different format, which has the potential to spark a wider audience interest. Judging by the volume of shorts available online, there’s no shortage of new and old short films to broadcast. Plenty of material to last many episodes!
And, everyone likes films, don’t they? Instead of watching one film for 3 hours, you can watch 3 or 4 films in one-half hour. That’s good value for time spent!
Question: any other TV stations in Canada out there that broadcast short film programs? If so, let me know! 🙂
